Thursday brought frequent showers, many quite heavy but much drier overnight. In between there were welcome bursts of strong sunshine that totalled 3.3 hours
The intense rain at 1400 saw the maximum temperature of 9.8C drop by 4C as the wind gusted to 34mph with wind chill that at that time felt more like 2.5C outside.
The minimum temperature overnight was 3.9C that occurred just before midnight (23.54) and was 1.5C above average.
Showers began just before 06.00 on Friday that brought the daily total 6.8mm and the monthly total to 15.3mm when the average is 59.8mm. The barometric pressure is slowly recovering as the depression moves away with a resultant fall in wind strength.
