Summer returns!

Wednesday saw the thermometer rise to 24.9C being 2.2C above average and the warmest day since 16th June in the strong sunshine of 11.4 hours and UV level peaking at very High.

The overnight minimum of 11.8C was average for July but the strong sunshine after dawn quickly raised the temperature so that by 0800 the thermometer read 18.8C, which was the warmest start to a day since 12th August 2020.

The Azores high pressure is now strongly influencing our weather with a current pressure reading of 1022.8mb the highest for over a month.
