Getting warmer but still below average on Sunday

Sunday saw the thermometer climb a little higher than on Saturday with peak of 20.9C but this was still 1.8C below the July average.

It was a dry day with the UV level rising to Very High.

The past night was the coolest for almost a month with a minimum of 5.6C being 5.3C below the average.

Monday brought a fine start to the day with much sunshine shortly after dawn that lifted the thermometer to 16.4C at 08.00, the warmest start to a day at that time for two weeks.

The barometric pressure is beginning to rise as the large anticyclone in Mid-Atlantic begins to influence our weather. As a result the short-term outlook is drier, warmer weather.
