Another 2.1mm of precipitation was recorded on Saturday during brief showers that at 11.30 and 12.35 contained hail then sleet. The strong westerly wind, gusting to 30mph, depressed temperatures with a maximum of 6.5C being 1C below average.
The rainfall for February amounted to 148.2mm. The was not quite a record as in 1990 and 2014, 151.0mm and 151.6mm respectively was recorded.
