Cooler, more moist air arrives from the Atlantic

The peak temperature on Wednesday of 19.6C was 8C below the Tuesday maximum and below average, just (-0.6C) as the cooler Atlantic air took effect. The sunshine time was down with just 5 hours but during that time the UV peak of 8.6 was in the Very High category again, the third successive day.

A large expanse of thicker cloud traversed the area early evening producing a few spots of rain between 1715 and 1800 that were not measurable and did not thoroughly wet the ground.

The cloud cover overnight meant a mild night with a minimum of 10.6C being just above average (+0.5C).

Friday brought a cloudy start with very light winds that had veered from the southwest on Thursday into the northwest then north during the late evening and overnight.
