A little and a little rain but warm

Thursday was dry by day with the temperature lifting later in the morning as the cloud thinned and cleared to eventually allow 2.9 hours of sunshine. The thermometer was dawn 2C on the Wednesday peak at 20.1C, which was almost exactly average for June. The wind in the late afternoon (17.00) slowly backed from northwest to southwest

A weather front crossed the area overnight that brought light rain and triggered the rain gauge just before 03.45 amounting to 1.6mm. That brought the monthly total to 30.0mm when the 37-year average was 54.4mm.

The back edge of the cold front meant a cloudy start ti Friday but just before 08.00 very brief bright intervals wren observed. The wind has settled into a westerly direction this morning with a very light breeze.
