Yet again the mild Atlantic air brought on a brisk southwesterly breeze meant another mild day and night. The thermometer rose to 11.3C being 4.3C above the average whilst the minimum of 6.0C just before dawn was 4.7C above the average.
Rain during much of Thursday and showers during the early hours of Friday accumulated 3.8mm that took the monthly total to 75.1mm, still 14mm below the 38-year average.
Friday arrived with minimal broken cloud and the prospect of some sunshine after the dull, gloomy previous days.
