Tuesday was another day to forget with rain and drizzle for much of the day that added another 5.8mm to the monthly total now standing at 46.2mm, average is 89.2mm.
The warm front passed over the area after dawn that brought the continuous precipitation but also the warmer air. The thermometer steadily rose from 7.1C at 08.00 to 12.1C at 17.50 Tuesday being 5.1C above the long-term average. Cloud cover overnight yet again meant a mild night with a minimum of 6.1C at 08.00, which was 4.8C above the 38-year average.
Wednesday at the start of the day brought cloud cover a little higher and thinner but further shower activity was not far away shown on the rain radar.
We are a third of the way into January and we have yet to have a day maximum that was below average and only one night minimum.
