A dry day on Friday followed by more rain

Friday gave us a dry, bright morning, but showers occurred in the early afternoon so a reduced maximum of 13.7C. This peak was the first below average for a week (-0.8C).

Once again the total overnight cloud cover meant a mild night with the thermometer not falling below 9.2C being 2.1C above the average for October.

A two hour wide rain band produced heavy rain to fall, starting at 0650 on Saturday morning, that gave a daily total of 7.0mm up to 0800 and a monthly total of 110.2mm, which is 129% of the 37-year average.

The barometric pressure is at its lowest since 5th October with a reading at 0800 on Saturday of 992.0mb.
