Monday brought us 7.7 hours of sunshine and warm as the thermometer rose to 21.2C being 1C above average. The UV level rose to 9.5, being at the top end of Very High and not recorded since 13th July.
The breeze was light and variable under the influence of the anticyclone with a maximum gust of just 13mph but mostly very light and predominantly from the south.
We were greeted on Tuesday with strong sunshine after dawn that saw the thermometer rise from it slowest overnight temperature of 8.3C to 17.5C at 08.00. The soil temperature at a depth of 5cm read 19.7C at 08.00.
