Yesterday there were occasional bursts of sunshine, very little at the strong level. The strongest was at 12.54 when very briefly the UV level shot up to 10.4, which is at the ‘Extreme’ level and only recorded once before, in June 2011.
The temperature edged upwards to a maximum of 21.3C with the winds a little lighter but still from a westerly direction.
Overnight the thermometer fell to a minimum of 13.7C, which was 4C above the average, but recovered to 14.6C at 08.00.
This morning started with low cloud and mist in the air but after 8am there were short bursts of weak sunshine.
