The very wide and slow moving rain band arrived around noon on Tuesday and continued for 8 hours with more rain overnight. The daily total was 17.6mm making it the wettest day since 26th August (18.8mm). This brought the rainfall amount for December to 89.3mm, which is almost exactly the average (90.0mm).
Not surprisingly there was no sunshine nor UV light. The temperature, around 7C by day, dropped to 5.0C at 23.00, which was 3.1C above average.
Wednesday arrived with the cloud thinning as the weather front eased away to the east.
Update on Wednesday at 15.55: 6 hours of sunshine, second sunniest this month and no rain with maximum temperature of 8.5C being 0.7C above average.
