Windrush Weather

Tropical Maritime air mass continues to influence weather

Sunday was dominated by the warm, moist air mass originating from mid- Atlantic around the Azores. It gave us a cloudy day, dominated by light drizzle from time to time thus precluding any sunshine.

The precipitation yesterday amounted to 0.3mm bringing the January total to 74.4mm being 18mm below the 34-year January average.

As a consequence of this warm air mass the thermometer rose to a maximum of 10.8C just after midday yesterday but only falling a little to 8.8C at 04.18 this morning. The maximum was 4C above the 34-year January average and the minimum a significant 7.5C above average.
