After the very cold start on Tuesday, with the thermometer reading -3.3C at 08.00, it took until mid-morning before it rose above freezing to reach a maximum of 7.6C at 14.23.
We enjoyed 6.5 hours of sunshine that made it the sunniest day since 17th November and the UV level rose to 1.1, the highest since 16th November.
The thermometer fell during late afternoon but began to rise several degrees again, from a low of 5.8C at 1915, as the next weather front and rain arrived.
Rainfall amount was 2.2mm bringing the total for January to 77.7mm. With just one day left this month the total for January is 14mm below the 34-year average.
