Sunday brought yet another above average day for warmth as the thermometer rose to 17.4C after a cold start, this was 2.8C above the average.
Rain began to fall just after midnight when a cold weather front crossed the area and as it traversed eastwards the wind veered from the south into the north, there was also a drop of 2C in the air temperature. The wind gusted to 24mph in the rain squalls.
Monday dawned dull with total cloud cover from the hang back of cloud from the weather front and the wind quite brisk from the north.
