Friday gave us a bright morning with 1.16 hours of sunshine but shower clouds built up early afternoon with just 0.9mm of rainfall.
The barometric pressure has been rising rapidly for the past twenty-four hours as an intense anticyclone developed. The pressure has risen almost 20mb in the past twenty-four hours, currently reading 1026.2mb and still rising. As a result the sky has cleared giving a brief air frost early Saturday morning, down to -0.1C. This was the first air frost since 1oth December.
The maximum temperature on Friday was 7.4C, just above the average but down 3C on the very warm Thursday whereas the minimum of -0.1C was 1.2C below the January average.
