The thermometer rose to 18.7C on Friday making it the warmest day since 22nd September and a significant 4.1C above the 38-year average. A modest rain shower that started, hesitantly, at 16.25 brought 0.6mm of ria fall.
It has been a very cold night with a minimum of 4.4C being 2.8C below the average under clear skies.
Saturday arrived with good sunshine after dawn but rising later in Autumn did not do much for raising the temperature as by 08.00 the thermometer had only risen to 5.0C.
