The forecast gale force winds arrived during last evening, increasing in strength from after 1930 to a peak of 44mph, before abating before midnight. There have been several occasions when wind gusts over 50mph have been recorded at this site with the record set in both January and March 2007 with peak gusts of 57mph. Further rainfall amounted to 5.7mm.
