Very cool night. July evaporation now totals 90mm.

The cooler northwesterly air has brought a clearer air, a change from the warmer humid air we have experienced recently with a maximum of 22.1C, average for July. However, overnight the clear sky meant that the thermometer dropped much lower to 8.9C, which is 3C below the mean for July.
During the month to date the evaporation from plant life and ground sources has amounted to 90mm, which leaves a deficit of 67mm over the rainfall so far of just 24mm.
