Rainfall still much below average for month

With only four dry days this month it is surprising that the total rainfall for December is much below the long-term average of 91.8mm with the current total of just 56.7mm (62%). Yesterday gave us a brief glimmer of strong sunshine in the early morning of 0.02 hours, the first for four days. With three days left of December the mean temperature is going to be in the order of 5 or 6 degrees above the long-term average, which would be a record.
