Northerly winds depress temperatures

The strong northerly winds yesterday, gusting to 25mph, kept the temperature down to a maximum of 17.1C. There were 4.02 hours of strong sunshine that reduced late afternoon as the cold front arrived from the north. Cloud cover overnight and a continuing slight breeze, meant that we just avoided a ground frost with a minimum of 6.2C. This morning the sun is beginning to break through the cloud cover with a temperature of 7.4C at 08.00
