A total of 4.16 hours of strong sunshine was recorded yesterday with a maximum of 12.3C, a couple of degrees above the mean for March. The UV value at 3.6 (scale 0 – 10) was the highest reading since the end of September. With clearing skies overnight the thermometer dropped below zero for two hours before dawn with a minimum of -0.9C. However, the rising sun quickly raised the temperature to 1.1C by 08.00.
