Hottest day for a month and a little rain overnight

With the culmination of several dry days and building heat the thermometer reached 26.6C yesterday with 8.44 hours of strong sunshine, the hottest day for a month. By late afternoon thin cloud started to arrive from the west heralding a change in the weather. The barometric pressure had been falling over the last three days as the anticyclone eased to the east.
Just after 4am this morning a light shower, totalling 0.6mm, was recorded with the cloud cover holding in the warmth overnight giving a minimum of 15.2C, a very warm night. This resulted in a misty start to the day with the sun trying to break through just after 8am.
