High winds return with lower temperatures

The strong westerly winds, peaking at 37mph this morning, have brought depressed temperatures with a maximum of 8.4C yesterday (mean is 10.3C for March) and a minimum of 3.4C earlier this morning. The temperature at 08.00 had recovered to 6.1C. The air is now much drier with a very low humidity reading at 08.00 of 77%, the lowest at this time of day since August last year. There was a little brightness yesterday morning but no strong sunshine with the occasional shower totalling 2.5mm.
