Windrush Weather

Heat builds as wind direction changes

Late on sunday the wind veered from a regular westerly direction to a northerly direction which continued yesterday to a north-easterly as the high pressure moved a little eastwards. The thermometer rose to a maximum of 24.4C yesterday, 4C above the mean, and the warmest day this month with light winds. There was glorious strong sunshine from dawn in clear blue skies totalling 14.37 hours, the third highest total this year.
This morning the sun is a little hazier with a minimum of 10.1C, less cool than the previous two days. There was valley fog at dawn that quickly dispersed as the sun rose and a light easterly breeze.
