Yesterday was notable for the frequent showers with limited sunshine between the downpours, also depressed temperatures. The maximum temperature was 12.4C, some 4C below the May daytime mean. This was followed by a very cool night when the thermometer dropped to 2.3C, again some 4C below the May mean. Rainfall amounted to 3.9mm bringing the monthly total to 71.2mm and bright sunshine reached 4.76 hours.
