Change on the way after much sunshine

The strong sunshine total yesterday was 9.91 hours, which boosted the maximum to 18.3C that is 2C above the average for May. Overnight the clear sky meant that the thermometer dropped steadily until just after 02.30 when fog began to form. At dawn the fog visibility was down to 200mm but then readily began to disperse so that at 07.30 the sun began to break through. The minimum overnight was 7.1C that had risen to 9.7C at 8.00 as the sun’s strength increased.
