Yesterday was a winter’s day with much blue sky, passing patchy cloud and 6.72 hours of strong sunshine. The wind was quite strong with gusts to 20mph producing a wind chill of several degrees. The maximum temperature was 5.2C but after midnight the slight air frost that had set in deepened considerably to a low of -5.6C at dawn. The highest barometric pressure for four months was set at around 4am with a reading of 1036mb.
