Blocking high pressure still depressing temperatures

The maximum temperature yesterday was 5.9C, almost 5C below the average for March. However, the thick cloud cover overnight meant a minimum of 4.5C, the highest this month, but the wind chill factor made this feel like 2C. After several months with above average monthly temperatures, March to date has an average maximum of 2C below the long-term average.
