  • Warmest day since early January

    Wednesday brought the warmest day since January 9th with a maximum of 11.9C

  • Warmest day and strongest wind gust during February

    After a very cold night during saturday into sunday the thermometer rose steadily all day until late afternoon when it peaked at 9.4C, the warmest day this year. This warmth was brought by southerly winds that increased as the day progressed with a peak gust of 38mph just after 4pm. The many hours of rainfall totalled 9.4mm.

  • Highest daily rainfall for a month

    The many hours of rainfall yesterday gave a total for the twenty-four hour period of 15.5mm, which is the wettest day since 14th January.
    This morning the falling air temperature overnight, following the very wet day, produced thick fog.

  • Two days with glorious sunshine

    The last two days have brought 8 and 7.5 hours, respectively, of glorious sunshine producing today the warmest day since mid-January with a maximum of 9.3C.

  • Wettest day this month

    With a total of 8.1mm, yesterday was the wettest day of the month and the wettest day since 14th January. The total rainfall for February is now 15.9mm. With the monthly long-term average standing at 65.6mm it has been a relatively dry month so far.
    The air temperature dropped below freezing around 5am this morning giving a sharp frost with a minimum of -1.2C. However, with clear skies forecast for the rest of the day we should enjoy many hours of sunshine unlike eight days this month when no sunshine was recorded.
