Yesterday brought the warmest day since early October with a maximum of 19.6C. The six consecutive dry days were broken with 1mm of rain this morning and rising wind strength. The UV levels peaked at a maximum of 5.0 on monday but dropped significantly to 2.7 with rising levels of air pollution over cent days.

Wednesday the warmest day this month
Today the thermometer peaked at 18.2C and follows the warming period over the last five days. This high is 5.5C above the average for April and combined with the light winds recently, that brought maximum gusts of 7mph and 9mph on Tuesday and Wednesday respectively, made for pleasant days.

Warmest day since September
Yesterday brought the warmest day since September 30th with a maximum of 17.3C and a very high UV factor, the highest since September 5th. The almost continuous sunshine totalled 11.2 hours.

Very dry March with mean temperature just above long-term average
The total rainfall for March was 27.9mm, which is 48.5% of the long-term average and the fifth driest I have recorded. The mean temperature was 0.2C above the 32-year average. A fuller analysis will follow shortly.
