  • Sunniest day this month

    Yesterday brought 8.3 hours of strong sunshine, the sunniest this month. As a result the maximum temperature was above average at 22.9C, combined with the very light winds, maximum gust of 11mph, it was a very pleasant day.

  • Temperature, UV and sunshine recovering

    Yesterday started an improvement with the maximum temperature recovering close to the mean for August, the UV level in the ‘very high’ category and 3.6 hours of strong sunshine. This was followed by clear skies overnight producing a minimum of 6.8C at dawn but a beautiful sunny morning.

  • Occasional drizzle but little rain.

    The short showers of drizzle and rain over the last 24-hours amounted to just 0.3mm of precipitation.The maximum yesterday (19.3C) was again below the average with much cloud cover and little strong sunshine (0.3 hours).

  • High UV levels again and significant wind

    Yesterday, although we only had 1.9 hours of strong sunshine the UV maximum was in the ‘Very High’ category, the highest for a fortnight. Gusty winds have also been a factor over the last couple of days with winds frequently reaching over 20mph, the peak was 25mph on monday.
