The mean maximum temperature for November is 9.9C. Yesterday evening the thermometer read 13C until late in the evening when the temperature started to slowly rise with a reading of 14.1C at 0800 today. The mean minimum for November is 3.5C so last night was almost 11C above the long-term minimum average with no frosts in the short term forecast.

Strong winds and more rain
Yesterday the winds gusted to a peak of 39mph, the highest since 5th May. Temperatures by day and night are still far above the mean, at least 5C. The rainfall yesterday amounted to 5.8mm bringing the total for November to 31.5mm. After four consecutive days with no sunshine, the sun peaked through for a couple of minutes yesterday afternoon.

Wettest day for a month
The last twenty-four hours produced a total of 13.1mm, the wettest day since 5th October.The wind has been strengthening since just after midnight with a maximum gust of 23mph. Another very mild night with a minimum of 12.6C when the mean is 3.5C.

Very warm, humid weather continues
Rainfall returned overnight with a total of 2.8mm. Due to the warm, humid air from a southerly direction the minimum was 12.2C overnight, that is 9C above the average, which had risen to 13.6C at 0800 this morning. It is interesting to see the increasing temperatures at 0800 for the last five days at 5.2, 8.4, 9.6, 10.6 and 13.4C. This cloudy, misty weather meant no sunshine for the last two days.

Very mild night after fog disperses
Yesterday was a misty day due to low cloud rather than fog with the temperature rising during the day and into the early evening. This resulted in a minimum of 10.6C, which is 6C. above the mean for November.
