The very mild and cloudy weather continues. Yesterday was plagued by bands of drizzle sweeping across the region from time to time and a heavy band of showers between 1.30 and 3.00am this morning amounting to 2.6mm. All this cloud, brought in by south-westerly winds, produced a maximum of 12.8C yesterday, which was 2.5C above the mean for March. But the greater difference was in the minimum of 10.1C, logged at 03.02, being greater than 8C above the average.
This morning is grey with complete cloud cover and a reading of 10.4C at 08.00

Warmest night for a month
Saturday was another dull day. The UV level dropped to 1.8 due to the extensive cloud, which precluded any strong sunshine. It was a breezy day with a maximum gust of 31mph just after 3pm. The thermometer fell very little overnight from its maximum of 11.7C to a minimum of 9.4C just before 7am making it the warmest night for a month. There was a brief shower before dawn amounting to 0.3mm.
The morning has dawned with much cloud and strong gusts of wind to 22mph. -
Light rain followed by a mild night
Yesterday was predominantly dry but during the evening there were a couple of light showers amounting to 0.6mm. The thermometer peaked at 10.5C, close to the mean for March, but the main feature was a lack of strong sunshine and increasing wind strength during the mid afternoon and again just before midnight. Since then the wind has moderated. This morning is damp with low cloud and little wind.

Highest UV level since September
The fine weather continues although the Barometric pressure is dropping from its peak of 1034.5mb on the 15th. That day gave a UV reading of 3.3, the highest since the end of September. After four consecutive dry days the rainfall for March so far stands at 33.6mm, which is 58% of the March mean.
This morning the temperature had fallen away to a minimum of 2.3C. -
Sunniest day for five months
Yesterday was a glorious day with 8.64 hours of strong sunshine, the highest since 3rd October, and the UV level at 3.0, also highest since the beginning of October. This sunshine boosted the temperature to a maximum of 14.6C, 4C above the mean for March. The thermometer dipped away overnight to a minimum of 8.2 at 01.44, not as cold as the previous night due to the thicker cloud cover. This morning is dull with heavy cloud and the highest barometric pressure since 18th January at 1032.1mb, so the mainly dry weather should prevail.
