Yesterday, during the late afternoon, the air temperature continued to rise and a maximum of 14.1C was reached. This very high temperature for January broke the previous record of 13.0C which has been held held since 1998. This quite exceptional mild air was 7.5C above the long-term average for January.
The wind was very strong during the day and night and produced a peak gust of 48mph at 1728 hours.
