Yesterday brought snow flurries at 16.22 and as the clouds cleared overnight the thermometer dropped to -0.6 just after 04.00. At dawn the sun rose in an almost clear sky and at 08.00 the temperature had risen to 3.3C. There was 2.1mm of precipitation over the last twenty-four hours and 4.3 hours of strong sunshine.

Past week brings sunshine and showers
The last five days have brought very changeable weather with the wettest day of the month on thursday bringing 5.7mm and two very sunny days on wednesday and thursday with almost four hours each of strong sunshine. Wednesday produced the highest UV value since september, at 4.6.

Southerly air raises temperatures
The wind has been from a southerly direction for the last three days and lifted daytime temperatures, the maximum yesterday was 13.8C and cloud cover overnight meant a low of 7.2C. Showers yesterday evening brought 1.6mm of precipitation.

Saturday brought much sunshine and warmth
Saturday brought 6.88 hours of string sunshine and the warmest day since 17th November with a maximum of 14.0C. The UV value, at 3.9 on a 1 – 10 scale, was the highest since 24th September. Overnight there was a little rainfall amounting to 1.3mm and a minimum of 5.8C.

Another sharp frost overnight but much sunshine yesterday
Yesterday brought 7.17 hours of strong sunshine with light breezes and a maximum just above the average for March at 11.3C. Overnight it was not surprising to see the thermometer drop below freezing after midnight with a clear sky and a minimum of -0.7C. This morning there is intermittent hazy sunshine with occasional bursts of strong sunshine.
