Yesterday produced the highest solar energy since July 30th 2014 and the sunniest day this month with 7.14 hours. Not surprisingly, the evaporation was the highest this month when 3.6mm of moisture was lost to the atmosphere.
Overnight the thermometer dropped steadily until a minimum of 1.7C was reached at 0547 this morning.

Warmest day for six months
Yesterday the thermometer peaked at 20.0C, the warmest day since 3rd September. The UV level was recorded at 6.3, which is ‘High”, the highest since 18th August 2014 although strong sunshine was limited to a total 2.29 hours.

Peak solar energy for May on saturday
The highest value for solar energy this month occurred on saturday, but this was below the very high values obtained in late April. The UV values have again been reaching ‘High’ over the weekend.
This morning at 0800 has been the warmest since the beginning of November at 13.2C. -
Much lighter winds but very cool night
The winds have abated from recent days following the 30+ mph gusts with a maximum of 18mph yesterday. Daytime temperatures have recovered a little with another day of ‘High’ UV levels. Overnight was chilly with a minimum of 5.4C.

Frequent April showers!
Frequent and squally showers throughout the day with minimum sunshine of 2 hours. Another 4.7mm of rainfall bringing the total to 36.7mm. Winds not quite as strong with the peak gust reaching 31mph.
