Friday turned put to be the warmest day since 29th October as the warmer air, brought up from the Azores, eventually arrived. The maximum of 18.1C was 4.0C above the 39-year average. The UV level of 6.9 was at the top end of ‘High’ and the strongest since 23rd August.
The minimum of 4.3C at 06.11 on Saturday was 0.6C above the average.
Saturday arrived with variable mist and fog. At 07.00 the visibility was limited to 500m but soon began to evaporate in the string sunshine that lifted the temperature to 9.2C at 08.00. The light breeze will veer from the southeast into the south and possibly the southwest today as a deep depression gets closer from the Atlantic. Meanwhile the ridge of high pressure will provide a dry day with a pressure reading of 1020.7mb at 0800, the highest for over a week.
