Yesterday was the third sunniest day this month

Tuesday was another splendid summer’s day with blue skies for much of the day and 12.75 hours of strong sunshine, the third sunniest day in August. Inevitably, the clear skies overnight produced a considerable drop in temperature, as the heat radiated into the atmosphere, from a maximum of 24.7C to 9.5C at 05.50 this morning. The sun shone brightly very briefly after dawn this morning but cloud promptly moved in from the west obliterating the sunshine.
