Temperatures start to drop as wind veers into North

The wind veering into a cooler northerly direction on Tuesday meant that the temperature dropped nearly 2C from the maximum on Monday to reach 9.0C, still 1.7C above the average.

There were 4.9 hours of strong sunshine with the UV level easing upwards again to reach 1.8, the highest since 28th October.

Overnight, clearer skies meant a much cooler night with the thermometer dropping to a minimum of 1.4C, almost average for February.
