After Storm Aidan comes ex-hurricane Zeta!

After a wet morning on Saturday welcome sunshine broke through around 13.30 for 1.5 hours. The rainfall for the last day of October amounted to 11.1mm that brought the monthly total to 191.0mm. This October total was 223% of the 36-year average or 105.4mm above the average.

The thermometer climbed to a peak of 13.8C on Saturday being 0.8C below average and dropped to 8.9C, which was 1.8C above average. The wind was from the south until early afternoon when it veered into the southwest as the depression changed position, and gusted to 36mph.

Sunday arrived with very low, thick cloud producing light drizzle. The wind has begun to increase in strength over the past four hours as the very deep depression, that contains the remnant of ex-hurricane Zeta, approaches the Scottish coast.
