Saturday saw the thermometer rise steadily to a maximum fo 25.C, which was 5.4C above the 35-year average and the hottest day since 7th August 2018.
The recent flow of warm air from Iberia is beginning to disappear as a cold front approaches from the west. This is as a result of the recent high pressure loosing its grip, the barometric pressure having fallen for two days.
The residual warm air meant a mild night with the thermometer not falling below 14.5C being 4.4C above average.
Sunday saw some brightness through thin high cloud at the start of the day with a brisk wind, having backed into the south east.
