The warmth has been slowly rising over the weekend with a maximum of 21.7C on Sunday that was 1.0C above my long-term June average. The peak made it the warmest day this month. The past night, with a minimum of 12.9C at 04.13, was also above average (+2.7C) due to cloud cover that had drifted in during the late evening.
Monday revoked a sky with total cloud cover from a depression to the west of the UK, which is currently feeding in a light breeze from the southeast or east-southeast, which will veer into the southwest later today. The high pressure has temporarily eased away allowing the depression to edge closer to the UK hence the cloudy conditions. The barometric presser has slipped 6mb since Sunday with a reading of 1016.0mb at 08.00.
By Tuesday there will be a southerly component to the air stream, which will continue for much of the week being the reason why the temperatures will begin to turn warmer as the week progresses. Weather fronts will cross the country producing variable cloud but warm conditions continuing.
There is little rain in the forecast, other than the slight possibility of a light precipitation during Wednesday morning. The BBC and MetOffice forecasts beg to differ on this matter at the moment. The total rainfall for June mow stands at 63.0mm, being just above my 42-year June average.

Brits have been warned that parts of the UK could be roasting in heatwave conditions towards the end of next week, forecasters have said.
Southern parts of the UK could see temperatures as high as 28C or more by Thursday, Met Officer forecasters have warned.
Parts of the south and south east of England are likely to see temperatures rise the highest but thunderstorms and rain showers are also likely in some places, forecasters have said.
