There was more sunshine on Tuesday in the calm conditions with a light northerly breezes, a maximum gust of 10mph. The thermometer rose to a maximum of 21.7C, just up on the Monday peak, and dropped to 8.2C, which was 3.7C below the average, so a cool night.
Wednesday dawned with thick, low cloud masking Savernake Forest. By 07.30 the sun had broken through and by 08.00 had lifted the temperature to 15.8C.
