Sunday was mainly cloudy, warm and dry with a peak temperature of 22.2C being 3.3C above the average.
Just after midnight a brief, sharp shower passed over producing 4.8mm, which was the first rain since 22nd August.
At first light on Monday radiation fog was observed in the River Og valley and to a lesser extent in the River Kennet valley. This began to disperse readily after 07.30 followed shortly afterwards for a few minutes, fog and low cloud that had by 08.10 totally dispersed. This valley fog was due to the sky clearing after the rain that allowed the temperature to drop thus producing temporary condensation in the saturated air. Brief bright periods appeared after 08.00.
