The airstream from the northwest persisted all day on Thursday, a cool direction, as result the maximum of 21.2C was 1.7C below the average. The past night saw the thermometer drop to 6.1C, which was a significant 5.8C below the 39-year average and the coldest night since 28th May.
It was another dry day with the UV level just into the Very High category.
After a cold night, Friday brought welcome sunshine to start the day, if a little hazy through thin, high cloud. As a result the temperature had recovered to 12.8C by 08.00, the coolest start to a day at that time since the 3rd (12.1C). The barometric pressure has already started to drop as another depression approaches the UK.
