The Arctic maritime air brought on the Northwest or north-northwest airstream meant a cool day and night. The thermometer eventually reached 9.8C, which was 0.8C below average and the clearing skies overnight produced an air-frost that saw the thermometer dip to -2.4C at 06.35 on Wednesday being 4.9C below the average.
A brief, short shower of small hail was observed starting at 15.15 amounting to 0.2mm.
Early evening the wind backed from the northern quadrant to west.
Wednesday dawned with weak sunshine as the advance cloud from the next weather front had already edged in. The airstream is now coming from the southwest but calm at the time the readings were taken.
