The thick cloud lasted all day on Saturday obscuring any sunshine, and that combined with the westerly breeze, a cooler direction, the thermometer rose to 10.2C being only 0.1C above average and the coolest day since the 5th.
It was another dry day, the eighth consecutive dry day.
The forecast cold front arrived late evening that saw the wind direction veer from the west to northwest and begin to pick up gently. The weather front cleared the south coast in the early hours leaving behind a much cooler airstream that saw the thermometer drop to 3.4C at dawn on Sunday being 0.4C below average.
Sunday arrived with welcome sunshine from a blue sky. Such a treat after the many gloomy days during the past week.
