As skies began to clear after 1 pm yesterday the thermometer started to drop for the next 17 hours reaching a minimum of -7.4C. This was the lowest overnight temperature since February 12th 2012 which reached -13.1C with the previous night even lower at -13.8C. The record was set on 20th December 1999 with a minimum of -14.1C
